			<title>'The Age of Stupid' film premiere, Leicester</title>
			<description><![CDATA[<p>'The Age of Stupid' is due to be premiered at cinemas across the United Kingdom on Sunday 15th March. This 90 minute British-made film, starring Oscar-nominated Pete Postelthwaite, is set in the year 2055 and looks back to chart how climate change has changed the world. If you don't know much about climate change, or even if you already do, you should watch this film.</p><p>At time of writing (27 February) there are still 260 tickets left for the screening at Vue Cinema, Leicester, which starts at 5.30pm on Sunday 15th March. Ticket price for premiere: &pound;10. </p>]]></description>

Members will then vote for their favourite talk, which will be the location for the group's New Year's Day walk.</p>]]></description>

			<title>Apple Day at Ashby de la Zouch</title>
			<description><![CDATA[<p>An apple a day helps to keep the doctor away! Why not put the old saying to the test by bringing along apples from your garden or a neighbours garden to Ashby Farmers&rsquo; Market on 16<sup>th</sup> October 9am to 2pm, to take part in the first ever Ashby Apple Day. An apple press will be available so that you can create your own juice, one carrier bag full of apples makes about a pint of juice and you will need to bring a container with you to take it away. There will also be a number of varieties of apples available for people to sample, including some rare and favourite varieties. And a number of fun and interesting apple activities for young people to participate in.The event is being run as part of the district wide Green Footprints Challenge, with an emphasis on promoting local food and seasonal produce. The group will be running an energy efficiency stall on Market Street from 10am-3pm, including a bike that generates electricity and will have campaign goodiesto give away to the general public. 			<description><![CDATA[<p>As part of its Footprints programme, North West Leicestershire District Council is encouraging everyone to support this year&rsquo;s Big Garden Birdwatch, which is being run by the RSPB and is celebrating its 30<sup>th</sup> birthday. The Big Garden Birdwatch is the world's biggest bird survey and helps provide a vital snapshot of the UK's birds each winter. </p><p>All you need to do is watch your garden or local park for an hour on either Saturday 24 or Sunday 25 January 2009. Simply record the highest number of each bird species seen in your garden (not flying over) at any one time. Then submit your results online. Schools can also get involved by running their own bird watch at any time up until 30<sup>th</sup> January.</p>]]></description>

			<title>Big Green Week at East Midlands Airport</title>
			<description><![CDATA[<p>Staff at East Midlands Airport are being encouraged to think green during the airport's annual <a href="http://www.eastmidlandsairport.com/biggreenweek">Big Green Week </a>which will run from 12 - 16 October. Tied into the Leicestershire-wide Big Switch Off campaign, the week will see a wide variety of fun and interactive green themed events, ranging from biker's breakfasts to tree planting, energy saving advice and a green roadshow. Colleagues can also book one-to-one travel planning sessions with EMA's Travel Plan team, increasing awareness of the airport's great transport network.</p>]]></description>
