What is the Footprints Challenge?
North West Leicestershire District Council has issued a challenge to the families, individuals, community groups, children and businesses of the district. That challenge is to change the way we all think and act about the environment to make the district a greener place to live, work and visit - both now and into the future.
Introducing the Footprints Challenge
"One of the biggest things people ask us about North West Leicestershire is how we can make the district a cleaner and greener place. Whether is it clearing up our streets, improving recycling or tackling bigger things like the amount of carbon we as a community pump into the atmosphere, the environment is something that more and more people tell us they are concerned about. More..."

Richard Blunt, Council leader & Chair of the LSP
The Footprints Challenge is helping to make North West Leicestershire greener through a series of environmentally themed events and activities held throughout the year. The challenge aims to raise the profile of 5 key actions which reduce our impact on the environment and on Climate Change:
Over the course of the Challenge we will be encouraging businesses, households, schools, community groups and individuals to take action to improve their environmental performance. The Council will also be taking action to improve its own performance and reduce its carbon footprint.
At the end of each year, the Footprints Awards will celebrate the contributions made to improving the environment of North West Leicestershire by individuals, families, businesses, schools and community groups around the District.
